Our Story
DangelA boutique lodge is the creation of Daniel & Angela following several years of travelling and working overseas, as evidenced by the eclectic display of art around the house. And now they have added a minihouse, Avondale, to their choice of accommodations.
Set on 1.25 hectare, the spacious four-bedroom house is surrounded by established gardens, rolling lawns, an orchard with a variety of fruit trees and there is even a rain-fed pond complete with frogs and waterlilies. The rear of the house opens on to a patio perfectly set up for barbeques, al fresco dining or for just relaxing and drinking in the view out over the rural landscape to the Mahurangi peninsula and the islands beyond. To top it all off there is a seasonally heated, salt water pool, perfect for doing a few lengths to keep you toned and fit or just to refresh and relax in. The masterpiece of the gardens at the rear of the house is the magnificent Puriri tree which attracts so much birdlife it is a marvel to sit and listen to their birdsong (and gossip) all day long.
At the gateway to the Matakana region, this isolated, quiet, tranquil retreat is only a minute from old SH1, 40 mins from Auckland’s CBD and 10 mins to Warkworth, so close to all the region has to offer, including the Matakana coast wine trail, the Matakana farmers’ market, beaches, Puhoi village, bush walks and so much more. This house is a delightful place to getaway for the weekend, chill out with friends and is perfect for bridal accommodation and celebrating special occasions.
The house can be rented as a whole (all four bedrooms) or just by the bedroom.
